FAQs

The Grade II listed building is something special, and its heritage has shaped the restaurant from the outset. We’ve stripped the space back to reveal as much of the original fabric as possible — exposed brickwork, generous ceiling heights and retained structural elements that speak to the building’s past.

A central bar anchors the space leading through to a 95-cover dining room. Throughout, vintage furniture and glass lighting create a space that feels relaxed, warm and welcoming. Along the historic frontage, street-side seating along with our signature planting connects Flat Iron Newcastle to Grey Street.

We’re serving our signature flat iron steak and sides, alongside blackboard specials including a Wagyu steak of the day, alongside cocktails, draft beer and a carefully curated selection of wines.

THE CARCASS CLUB
IS COMING TO NEWCASTLE

CARCASS CLUB

A very special take on the classic Flat Iron experience, the Carcass Club is a series of a one-off events that gives you the chance to try some of the rarest, most incredible beef out there.

We are very lucky to have people at Flat Iron who are always looking out for exciting beefy opportunities. This animal is thanks to Scott, our butcher in Covent Garden.

For Newcastle’s Carcass Club, we will be serving an 11-year-old purebred Highland heifer. The Highland breed originates from the Highlands of Scotland and are known for producing finely marbled, tender and well-flavoured beef. This animal comes from Pollehill Farm in Kent, where its fold (the term for a herd of Highland cattle) was used for conservation grazing in the National Trust-owned Cobham Woods. It was raised on a varied diet of plants and herbs, giving it time to mature and fatten slowly, resulting in beef with an exceptional depth of flavour.
